On 24/11/2024, we a team of 40 people along with professional volenteers of AMAS KERALA conquered Kondaketti Hill(700 meters high), a feat that was inspired by the determination and spirit of our 84-year-old team member, Sree Prem Vallab Chamoli. Mr. Chamoli's presence on the trek served as a reminder that age is just a number and that with the right attitude, anything is possible. The Kondaketti Hill trek is a challenging one, but Mr. Chamoli never let his age get in his way. His positive attitude and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to all of us. In addition to Mr. Chamoli, the entire team, especially the volunteers of the organising team AMAS KERALA played a vital role in the success of the trek. A Glimpse into History The temple's origins can be traced back to the Ay Kingdom, which ruled the region during the Sangam period. It is believed to have been constructed by the Ay dynasty, who were later known as the Venad and eventually Travancore. October 2nd, 2024, dawned with heavy rains, but that didn't dampen our spirits as we embarked on a thrilling trek to Vazhvanthol waterfalls. The journey was made even more memorable thanks to the incredible team at Wandering Bees, led by the enthusiastic Mrs. Sama and Mr. Sreerag. The trek was a delightful surprise. The 21-member group, comprising youngsters and middle-aged individuals, showcased remarkable teamwork that made the experience truly enjoyable. Despite the pouring rain, we were able to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of the waterfalls. The 4 km trek to and fro was a thrilling adventure, filled with the invigorating sounds of nature and the refreshing springs. I am deeply grateful to the Wandering Bees team for organizing such an unforgettable experience. Their expertise and guidance ensured our safety and comfort throughout the trek.
